University of York - Mahidol University Seed Grant 2026
Through the seed grant we aim to:
- Encourage effective collaboration between academic teams from both institutions to drive outstanding research.
- Expand research efforts in areas of shared interest, emphasising scale and focus.
- Foster engagement at all academic levels by ensuring diverse research team compositions.
- Provide international research training opportunities.
- Establish a strong foundation for continued research collaboration, securing external funding.
- Support the development of long-term strategic research alliances between the two universities.
- Actively promote and facilitate academic exchanges for research visits between the two institutions.
Eligibility
Academics employed at the University of York and Mahidol University are eligible to apply.
Application process
Project timeline
- Monday 17 November 2025 - Call for proposals
- Friday 20 March 2026 - Proposal submission closes
- March 2026 - Assessment of proposals
- April 2026 - Announcement of successful candidates
- May 2026 - Project commencement
- April 2027 - Completion of research projects
Project structure
Each proposal must include a Co-Principal Investigator from both the University of York and Mahidol University.
Application limit
A faculty member may serve as a Co-Principal Investigator on only one application per cycle. There is no limit to the number of applications a faculty member may join as a team member.
