Kit Keeper, the York-born student storage and shipping service, has closed a crowdfunding round, taking total investment to over £1 million and paving the way for further UK expansion.

Launched at the University of York to ease the stress of end-of-term moving, Kit Keeper has grown into one of the UK’s most trusted student storage solutions, serving thousands of students across the UK.

"I started Kit Keeper in my first year using my student loan to buy a van," said Michael, Founder and CEO. "What began as a way to help fellow students move out at the end of term has grown into one of the largest student storage operators in the country. Enterprise Works has been a huge part of that journey, supporting us at every stage, from our first idea right through to securing this funding round."

The service collects belongings directly from halls, stores them securely over term breaks, and returns them when students are ready, all with the press of a button.

Kit Keeper has received support from the University of York, The King’s Trust, and Innovate UK, and recently brought on Jeff Kelisky, former CEO of Republic, as Chair (and an investor).

“This could be really big,” said Kelisky. “I’m interested in working on hard problems that are going to make a difference in the world we live in. When I saw Mike doing this, and how others misunderstood the real levers of success in the space, that’s what attracted me to Kit Keeper.”

With over £1 million now raised, Kit Keeper plans to expand its partner network, upgrade its technology, and build on its mission to make student storage as effortless as ordering an Uber.
