Anthony Bale will consider some interesting, if unusual, examples of portable and transnational textuality, drawing on the research undertaken under the aegis of the Leverhulme Pilgrim Libraries project. In this presentation he will present a small number of detailed examples - including the journeys of Henry of Derby, and the Lewkenor Hours - to consider where and how medieval pilgrims read and wrote.
