Neurasthenia, Ghosts and Alienation from Nature during and after the First World War: the Case of Frank 'Toronto' Prewett, 1893-1962

Joy Porter, Professor of Indigenous History in the Department of History, University of Hull, will speak on her AHRC-funded research, part of a new book, The Native American Indian Poet of the First World War: Frank 'Toronto' Prewett, 1893-1962. Others of her recent books include Native American Freemasonry: Associationalism and Performance in America (University of Nebraska Press, 2012); Land and Spirit in Native America (Praeger, 2012) and Native American Environmentalism (University of Nebraska Press, forthcoming 2014).
