Congratulations to Dr. Adam Perchard whose work 'Leviathan' has won the inauguralĀ Hogarth Prize.
Perchard's award-winning work is their take on the frontispiece of Hobbes's Leviathan. The prize includes a £3,000 award and the opportunity to stage a solo exhibition at Hogarth's House in 2027.

'Leviathan' and 'English Ships' (also short-listed for the prize) feature in Perchard's novel, London Fluid, a non-binary epic about queer, Black, and immigrant communities in London that weaves between the Renaissance and the present day. London Fluid was a winner of the 2026 Michael Langan LGBTQ+ Free Reads award.

Dr. Perchard completed an MA in Cultures of Empire in the Department of English and Related Literature and a PhD with the Centre for Eighteenth Century Studies.
