Incoming York student wins a TLC Free Reads Award

This award involves a manuscript appraisal from a TLC reader, a submissions package report from TLC, an editor one-to-one via TLC and a bursary of £500 from New Writing North. Farzana will also receive support from New Writing North through the opportunities they offer to winners each year. 

The judges called Farzana and her work 'exceptional'. She also publishes under the name Farzana Amehd.

Farzana was awarded a YGRS Award to fund her PhD entitled 'Song of the Bulbul & Fiction as Memory-making for the Mirpuri Diaspora', from the Department of English and Related Literature in 2023.
