Event details

This Reading Group seeks to interrogate the central questions facing the study of humanities and literary criticism right now - what is the future of these disciplines, and how can we adapt them for the modern day?  Through discussions of multiple classic works of critical theory, as well as some very recent additions to the conversation, this group hopes to create detailed discussion and offer a place for current researchers and students alike to share experiences in the contemporary university space.

This first meeting starts with a chapter from Ankhi Mukherjee's What is a Classic? and John Guillory's Cultural Capital. Those wishing to join the reading group should email Dion Everett at vtq515@york.ac.uk.

This is a hybrid event. Please indicate in your email if you wish to attend the reading group in person or online, and Dion will provide a Zoom link to the session.
