The Quiet Place Book Club: Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates

Thursday 30 July 2020, 8.00PM

Thanks to everyone who joined us to discuss Ottessa Moshfegh’s Homesick for Another World on Wednesday. Turning to July’s book club (back to its usual slot on the last Thursday of the month), we’re reading Between the World and Me (2015) by Ta-Nehisi Coates. Coates, who published his first novel The Water Dancer last year and a selection of his Atlantic essays (We Were Eight Years in Power) in 2017, frames his exploration of America’s racial history as a letter to his teenage son.

Fox Lane Books, as ever, have ample copies of Between the World and Me - Kirstie is donating a percentage of her sales of all fiction and non-fiction texts by black writers to anti-racist causes and those that support the black community, both in the UK and overseas.
