CRD Showcase Day
Posted on Tuesday 6 October 2026
On Wednesday 16 September, CRD held its first showcase, an event celebrating the excellent and novel work taking place across the department.
The programme included three groups of presentations and videos. Topics covered scoliosis, inequalities, threshold analysis, children and young people with cancer, and data repositories.
Two videos highlighted our work on Y-MHESH involvement in mental health research and on antiemetic medications. Both are available on our YouTube channel.
Watch the Y-MHESH involvement in mental health research presentation to find out how the Youth Mental Health Evidence Synthesis Hub, a collaboration between the Universities of York and Auckland, works with young people to shape evidence synthesis on the mental health questions that matter to them.
Watch the antiemetic medications animation to learn about our research comparing medications that prevent nausea and vomiting in children and young people receiving chemotherapy.
Attendees also saw a demonstration of the Violence against Women and Girls evidence toolkit, which summarises the evidence on 18 types of healthcare-related intervention to prevent violence against women and girls, reduce its effects or improve how organisations respond to it.
The event ended with a display of nine posters, including one for the CRD Introduction to Systematic Reviews course, which is taking bookings for November 2026.
The showcase received lots of positive feedback, and over 90% of attendees who provided feedback would like it to run again in the future.
