We are delighted to share that CIEC Advisory Teacher Rebecca Cornwell has written a feature article for the Association for Science Education’s respected journal Primary Science.

Her piece, titled “How hands-on science and real-life contexts bring science to life”, explores the powerful impact of practical, meaningful science experiences in the primary classroom. Drawing on her work with teachers and industry partners, Rebecca highlights how authentic contexts deepen children’s curiosity, strengthen their understanding of scientific concepts, and help them see the relevance of science beyond school. The article also showcases the value of linking classroom learning with real STEM careers and industry stories - an approach at the heart of CIEC’s mission. Rebecca’s contribution reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting teachers o deliver high-quality science education, and we are thrilled to see her expertise featured in Primary Science.
