The Centre for Health Economics (CHE) at the University of York is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow (Grade 6 or Grade 7) to work across the REAL Demand and REAL Supply research units. The appointment is on an open contract basis (part-time applications will also be considered with a minimum of 0.8 FTE).

The two REAL research units provide independent analysis to support better long-term decision making in health and social care, focussing on economic issues around the demand for services (REAL Demand; led by the Health Economics Research Centre, University of Oxford) and the provision of services (REAL Supply; led by CHE). During the first two years, the units will focus on co-developing ambitious and high quality research proposals together with a wide range of system stakeholders. This is followed by a five-year period of applied economic research covering a portfolio of projects.

The Research Fellow will be based in the CHE, one of the world’s most prominent academic health economics research centres.  For over forty years we have been committed to the development and application of economics to promote health and wellbeing through the effective, efficient, and equitable use of scarce resources. We are a community of over 90 research staff, support staff, and PhD students. We provide a positive, flexible and supportive working environment, with an inclusive and friendly ethos, where diversity is recognised, valued and celebrated.
