Dr Rocío García Díaz (Tecnológico de Monterrey) joins CHE as a Visiting Research Fellow in Health Policy. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of York and is associate professor at Tecnológico de Monterrey.  From 2004 to 2006, she worked in the Department of Economics at York University.

Her research focuses on health economics and health equity, with particular emphasis on financial protection, out-of-pocket health expenditure, healthcare utilization, and inequalities in access to care. She has served as a consultant for the World Health Organization and the World Bank, and has published in journals including BMC Medicine, Social Science & Medicine, the Journal of Health Economics, and the Journal of Global Health. Her recent work examines maternal health, healthcare fragmentation, food environments, diabetes, and obesity in Mexico and other low- and middle-income countries. Current projects focus on the effects of food environments on diabetes and obesity outcomes, healthcare utilization patterns, and equitable approaches to global health financing.

Dr Boshen Jiao (University of Southern California) is the second Visiting Research Fellow joining CHE this year. He is an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical and Health Economics and a Scholar at the Leonard D. Schaeffer Center for Health Policy and Economics at the University of Southern California.
