Vanbrugh College solar panel installation

Further expansion of our renewable energy infrastructure at Vanbrugh College.

Overview

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we are continuing the installation of solar panels across campus buildings, with the next phase of incorporating work at Vanbrugh College during Autumn/Winter 2025. This initiative will, in the long term, generate renewable energy, helping to reduce our carbon footprint, contribute to a greener campus and is part of a large-scale net-zero project.

Timings

The solar panel project at Vanbrugh College is scheduled to begin in mid September and will continue until late December 2025. Scaffolding is being erected early September and will be in place for the full duration of the works.

How will it affect me?

To ensure a safe and efficient installation, scaffolding is being erected around the exterior of the affected buildings; Donald Barron Court A block, and Barbara Scott E and F blocks. This may temporarily obstruct the view from some bedroom and kitchen windows. Contractors will be working to complete the project efficiently and with minimal noise. Work will not begin before 9am and will finish between 4pm and 5pm, depending on daylight hours.

Our contractors are committed to minimising disruption and noise, with all work carried out in compliance with strict health and safety protocols. We appreciate the patience and understanding of residents as we complete this important upgrade, which is another significant step towards a more efficient and sustainable estate.
