Provide a live brief project

Do you have a business challenge or area of work that needs some fresh insight? Various modules at York offer the opportunity for York students to work on a live business project to support your business need.

School of Business & Society: Business Consultancy Project

Gives organisations the opportunity to collaborate with final year, undergraduate student consulting teams on tailored consultancy projects. Students work in groups, under academic supervision, to investigate specific business challenges - such as strategy, market research, marketing, or sustainability - and deliver detailed presentations with actionable insights.

Projects run from February to April.

Department of Environment & Geography: Postgraduate Taught (PGT) Dissertation with Placement

Gives organisations the opportunity to collaborate 1:1 with a Master’s level, Environment & Geography student on a tailored research project. Students can address specific business challenges, collect data, or analyse raw data to deliver real-world insights.

Placements run between June and September.

Mentor students through York for Life

Are you a University of York alumnus or working alongside York graduates? Share your professional experience and help shape the next generation of talent by becoming a mentor to current students on our York for Life platform.

Write a guest blog

Our students really value candid insights into working life. Provide content and gain exposure on our careers blog (hosted on our Handshake site) or podcast. Engage with underrepresented student talent

Our On Track programme offers employers who resonate with the aims of the programme the opportunity to deliver workshops, host office visits, and mentor undergraduate students from low-income or independent (care experienced or estranged) backgrounds to help them navigate workplace culture and launch their careers.
