Nature-based interventions in the early years network

This network brings together researchers, practitioners, and parents, carers and families who are interested in nature-based interventions. Nature-based interventions include activities such as walking groups, forest-schools, outdoor learning, forest-bathing, rock-climbing, outdoor yoga or mindful nature-based activities, and outdoor playgroups. The early years include families from pregnancy until the end of primary school.

The network aims to meet once or twice a year. We also stay in touch through a mailing list (see below). You can use this mailing list to contact members of the network - all posts will be approved by admins.

The aims of the network are to

  • Encourage collaborations between researchers, practitioners and families
  • Share opportunities for research participation (for example, in patient and public involvement groups, surveys, focus groups or interviews)
  • Share research findings and tips for best-practice

This network is for:

  • Researchers interested in any aspect of nature-based interventions
  • Organisations thinking about setting up, hosting and/or delivering nature-based interventions
  • Practitioners interested in delivering and/or delivering nature-based interventions
  • Outdoor learning providers (for example, nurseries or primary school providers)
  • Parents, carers and families
