Dr Kevin Tennent has been awarded the Medal for Contribution to Communities by the British Academy of Management (BAM).

According to the BAM, he has been given the award for “being an outstanding leader in the field who has contributed to BAM communities by reinvigorating the Management and Business History special interest group (SIG) as Track Chair from 2011 to 2017, and as SIG Chair from 2016 until 2023”.

Dr Tennent said: “I am very honoured to be recognised by BAM in this way.  We started with a small initiative at Aston in 2011, and since then business and management history activity at BAM has gone from strength to strength. I am pleased to have been able to play such a key role in raising the profile of historical research in management studies.”

A spokesperson for BAM said: “Through over ten years of service and leadership, Dr Tennent has nurtured growing  interest from business and management historians in joining the BAM conference and raised the profile of the SIG within the wider business and history community.

“These are only some  of his many contributions to our community for which BAM is immensely grateful.”
