Vamos Theatre’s Elevate Taster Workshop
Event details
Are you an Early Career Artist interested in non-verbal, physical story telling? Fancy the chance to be part of Vamos Theatre’s Elevate 2025 FREE four-day training residency in mask and physical theatre?
Vamos Theatre’s Elevate programme is designed to train and inspire Early Career Artists from diverse communities across the UK.
The first stage, open to all, is a free full mask taster session where participants can immerse themselves in Vamos Theatre’s approach to mask theatre, creating physical character and devising non-verbal theatre that connects and moves audiences. From these nationwide taster workshops, we'll select a group of artists to attend a free residency in September 2025, where participants will receive intensive training and space to create public performances.
Elevate aims to nurture performers and theatre makers from an early career stage, offering workshops, a residency, online support sessions, performance opportunities and ongoing connections within the Elevate community over a full year.
Who is it for? This training is open to all 18+ Early Career Artists who have at least one professional theatre-based experience on their CV.
About the performers

Vamos Theatre is the UK's leading full mask theatre company, taking its funny and fearless brand of wordless theatre across the length and breadth of the country and beyond since 2006.
Vamos Theatre’s trademark style marries full mask with strong visual design and an original soundtrack. We make accessible, humorous, human, and fearless work which is based on real life stories, and our productions are rooted strongly in social research.
We tour a full scale mask theatre production throughout the UK annually, as well as performing at national and international festivals and events. We share our skills in schools, with NHS staff, in care homes, with teachers, actors, carers, social workers, the deaf community, business leaders and more. Our full mask characters entertain at festivals and celebrations, bringing fun and cheek to events nationwide, and our Youth Theatre learn the skills that will take them, and full mask theatre, into the future.
All shows are created in consultation with members of the public who generously share their knowledge and experience of particular issues with us.
They have a national network of over 100 venues that expands with each new production, including leading contemporary arts venues and festivals such as London International Mime Festival; Jacksons Lane, London; Perigueux International Mime Festival, France; mac birmingham; Glastonbury Festival; and a wide range of regional producing theatres.
Based in Worcester, Vamos Theatre is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation.
