We’re welcoming back graduates of the Theatre: Writing, Directing and Performance degree to hear about what they did next. This alumni panel event is an opportunity to find out more about the many different career routes you can take after graduating from the Theatre programme. The panellists are:
About the speakers
Elle McAlpine
Elle McAlpine trained at Drama Centre London and holds a degree in Writing, Directing and Performance from York University. She founded EK Intimacy, an industry leading Intimacy Coordinating company, in 2021 with Katharine Hardman. Her work in theatre includes, as intimacy coordinator, Mnemonic (2024) for Complicité at the National Theatre; and Stripped Theatre at King’s Head. TV includes One Day, Franklin, Everything Now, The Winter King, Baby Reindeer, Champion, The Full Monty, Willow, Wednesday, Gentleman Jack (season two), Silo, Good Omens (season two), The Long Shadow, Best Interests, The Pursuit of Love, It’s a Sin, Roadkill, The Great (season one), Brave New World and The Nevers. Film includes Poor Things, Flux Gourmet, No One Gets Out Alive, Birds of Paradise and Joanne of Pompeii.
Georgie Hook
Georgie Hook (she/her) is a performance designer and researcher. Devising new work in collaboration with theatre artists, she has designed for performances at venues across the UK. Her creative practice uses elements of set, costume, and lighting, with a particular interest in the potential of materials to transform/perform. After completing an MA in Performance Design, Georgie won the TaPRA Postgraduate Essay Prize in 2022 for her article on 'scenographic stuff', since published in Studies in Theatre and Performance. Her current PhD at the University of Leeds is funded by the AHRC, through the White Rose College of Arts and Humanities. Her research explores the potential of scenography to cultivate ecological awareness in everyday places, focusing on experiences of domestic environments.
Rebecca McGreevy (She/Her)
Since graduating from York, Rebecca has directed and produced new writing with Teastain Theatre, of which she is co-artistic director, as well as developed a career as an arts administrator and marketing professional. In her current work as programme administrator at Boundless Theatre she manages administration, databases and assists finance procedures to support innovative theatre and outreach work with and for young people.
Previously, Rebecca worked with mid-scale touring company Stockroom Productions as Marketing & Communications Officer, managing the marketing strategy for shows including Alice in Wonderland (Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse, Dir. Kate Wasserberg) and The Glee Club (UK Tour, Dir. Kate Wasserberg). Other marketing work includes outdoor arts organisations XTRAX, Without Walls and Walk the Plank. She is also a reader for Theatre 503 and recent credits with Teastain Theatre include: Tap Root (Director, The Glitch, Feb 2025); Thirst (Director, VAULT, 2023) and Untitled Sparkly Vampire Play (Producer, Omnibus Theatre, 2022).
Hannah Eggleton
Hannah graduated from TFTV* in 2017. She now works as an actor and writer for stage, screen and radio. Acting credits include: 'Fran' in Race Across the UK (BBC Learning English), 'Lucy' in Dead Hand (BBC Radio 4) and 'Gem Stone' in The Crystal Maze Live Experience (West End Immersive).
Her writing credits include My Dead Boyfriend's Girlfriend (London Film Festival), There Once Was a Girl (The Space) and Unattended Baggage (Theatre 503).
In 2023, Hannah won the RSC 37 Plays Project with her short play Growing Pains, described by theatre critic Lyn Gardner as an "absolutely exquisite snapshot".
She is currently studying for an MSt in Creative Writing at the University of Oxford; her first full-length play CRUSH will be on at the North Wall Arts Centre in June.
