Event details

In this special guest lecture, Minji Kim will address the extraordinary success of South Korea’s creative industry—a sector that has seen its export value nearly quadrupled since 2010, thanks to global phenomena like Parasite, BTS, and Squid Game. Her lecture will provide an in-depth analysis of the Korean Government's pivotal role in driving this growth. She will frame their policies as strategic interventions designed to address market failures, focusing on three key strategies: nurturing cultural practitioners, supporting novel creative endeavors, and promoting the industrialisation of fine arts and traditional culture.
