Soprano and composer Sarah Dacey will be talking about her new programme of art songs with pianist Belinda Jones. Inspired by women's relationship to the night time, 'Night Songs' features five new commissions, contemporary songs by living composers and forgotten art songs by historical female composers.

About the speaker

Singer and composer Sarah Dacey studied at the Royal Academy of Music and the University of York. Theatre appearances include the Royal Opera House, the National Theatre and Shakespeare’s Globe. An advocate of new music, she’s performed with the London Contemporary Orchestra, the Heritage Orchestra and the Gavin Bryars Ensemble. She is also a member of Riot Ensemble featuring on several albums of contemporary music with Deutschlandfunk’s Coviello Classics and performs with two vocal ensembles - experimental music specialists, Juice Vocal Collective and vocal quartet, VocAstrale. She's written music for theatre, opera and choral works and is published by OUP, UYMP and Trinity London and her music has been performed by Fretwork, Paragon Singers, Echo Vocal Ensemble and Gestalt Arts.
