Event details
In an era defined by global sustainability crises and complex social challenges, the responsibility of design extends far beyond aesthetics and efficiency. This seminar focuses on a fundamental shift: design can be leveraged as a potent tool for driving positive societal and environmental change. The talk will explore the core principles of behavioural design. It examines how strategic design interventions can support design decision-making, steer human action away from unsustainable consumption. Fangzhou argues that for design interventions to be effective and ethical, they must be founded on meaningful public engagement. Fangzhou will share her research insights and observations, using a real-world case study to demonstrate how participatory research can inform the design of behaviour change interventions.
