The Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CiFA) recognition continues for our Undergraduate Archaeology Degrees.
Following our revalidation in late 2025 we are delighted CiFA is continuing to recognised our Archaeology Degrees. The CifA assessment team were
particularly impressed by the following examples of good practice:
- There was a clear strength in terms of how equality and diversity had been scheduled
into the curriculum - The proactive engagement of students with risk assessment, and the embedding of the
process in practical work (students confirmed that they found this effective) - Embedded careers focus and assessment of CVs
- The well-integrated syllabus, with lots of options
- The promotion of the accreditation to prospective students and parents.
Student membership of CIfA is offered to all students enrolled on an accredited programme.
Student members can access CiFA e-learning modules and specialist professional networks through CiFA's Special Interest groups as well as receiving The Archaeologist magazine and Jobs Information Service bulletins. Students will automatically be members of the CIfA New Generation special interest group, aimed at early career archaeologists, as well as the Professional Pathways mailing list.
