Join us for a virtual tour of Harlow, Britain's first Sculpture Town.

Hosted by Peter Aylmer, author of popular books such as 'Walking in London' and 'Walking in Essex', this virtual tour will enable you to join Peter on his latest adventure, from the comfort of your own home.

Inherent to the vision of Harlow's master planner, Sir Frederick Gibberd, was the value of public art in the townscape in the form of sculpture.  It is a heritage that lives on, and Harlow is now designated as Britain's first Sculpture Town.  We will see how some of the town's 100+ public sculptures work in settings ranging from health centres to supermarkets, and we will find out more about Gibberd, one of the principal British architects of the 20th century.

Peter’s tours are regularly fully booked, so please reserve your place early to avoid disappointment.

This event is free to attend but any donations to support the  Emergency Student Support Fund will be hugely welcome.  The fund provides financial support of up to £500 (per applicant) for students facing unanticipated financial challenges due to the pandemic.  If you would like to make a donation or find out more, please click here.
