Learn the art of printmaking with the Thin Ice Press

The Thin Ice Press is York's Centre for preserving the traditional art of printmaking. Founded back in 2017 at the University in the English Department, the Centre has now found its permanent home at The Old School House in Peaseholme Green.

If you've ever wanted to learn Risograph, Letterpress Printing, Linocut or other printing techniques, the team are hosting a range of creative workshops to get you started on your printing journey or develop your practice.

The Centre also hosts a range of regular events such as a weekly Riso Club, Lino Club, and special events like their Winter Frost Fair, offering a festive celebration with print and craft stalls.
