Global South fellowship scheme launched at Department of Archaeology

The Department of Archaeology at the University of York is inviting applications for researchers from the Global South to participate in scientific research for a two week visiting fellowship.

Applications are open for the Global South Visiting Researchers in Archaeological Science

We are inviting applications for researchers from the Global South to participate in scientific research in the Department of Archaeology for a two week visiting fellowship.

Research areas include material culture studies, bioarchaeology and conservation studies. Please see links to our research centres and list of facilities.

 

The aims of the scheme are:

  • To provide visiting researchers with hands-on experience in scientific analysis linked to the applicant's field of research. 
  • To develop skills, knowledge and resources in the Global South for archaeological science. 
  • To create or enhance durable and equitable partnerships between the University of York and the visitor's home organisation in line with our ambitions for equitable and responsible research.
