On Sunday 7 June, our geothermal engineering team brought hands-on geothermal science to the Discovery Zone at the York Festival of Ideas 2026.
It was fantastic to see so many families exploring and engaging with our deep geothermal project through a range of interactive activities, including:
- 3D-printed models of our geothermal well and drill bits.
- Interactive geology activities exploring tectonic plates and the layers of the Earth.
- Rock samples connected to the geology found beneath our campus.
A huge thanks to our geothermal engineering team for delivering such an engaging and educational experience.
Most importantly, thank you to all the families who visited the stall, asked questions, and got involved with the activities. It was wonderful to share the science and engineering behind geothermal energy and inspire curiosity about the world beneath our feet.
