How to get involved
Who can collaborate with us?
Everyone! There are no restrictions on the departments or career stages of researchers we collaborate with. If you have a research idea in the area of environmental sustainability which you’d like to develop, get in touch to discuss your needs.
Through YESI I've been able to take part in new interdisciplinary collaborations leading to successful funding applications. YESI not only brings people together, but supports them as they develop their programmes of research.

How can we help?
- Provide knowledge of and insight into the funding landscape by identifying and sharing upcoming research opportunities
- Host events and workshops to create networking opportunities
- Provide 1:1 advice on shaping research ideas and finding funding
- Connect partners across our internal and external networks
- Coordinate development of large, interdisciplinary research bids on a range of environmental sustainability challenges
- Provide advice on draft proposals or peer review recommendations
- Connect researchers to other specialist support at York
- Publicise the outputs of your projects, helping to increase your visibility
We work closely with Departmental, Research, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange and Faculty teams to tailor the level of support to each researcher’s needs.
