Undergraduate Open Days

If you are thinking of applying to the University but would like to visit before deciding for sure, you should come to an Open Day, make an independent visit, or attend a subject taster day.

Our Open Days for 2014 entry are:

  • Wednesday 3 July 2013 - Booking now open
  • Tuesday 24 September 2013 - Booking will open after the July Open Day

Booking is essential in order to receive a copy of the programme and the system for 3 July is open now. The booking form will then close approximately two weeks prior to each Open Day or, when we reach capacity, whichever happens first. To book online use the links below:

The Hull York Medical School (HYMS) will be represented at the July Open Day at York and at Open Days in June and September at the University of Hull. For further information and to book online, please visit the HYMS website.

There are plenty of other opportunities to visit the University of York and these can be found below.

Other ways to visit

If you can not make one of our Open Days, there are plenty of other opportunities to visit the University of York:

Visiting on your own

If you would like to visit on your own, you can make an independent visit to the University of York.

Subject taster days

In the spring and summer terms, subject taster days allow students to find out more about some of our academic departments.

Visit Afternoon

Our Visit Afternoons are opportunities for pre-application students to visit the campus and gain an overview of the University, including informative talks and a campus tour with possible accommodation viewing.

Please note: we currently have no Visit Afternoons sheduled, but details will be posted here when we do.

Campus tours

Our Student Ambassador led campus tours are ideal for potential students who are looking to find out more about the University of York but are unable to make another visit such as an Open Day. The tours last for approximately one hour and are a good way of looking around campus with one of our current students.

Visiting after you get an offer

If you are made an offer during the admissions season or if the department to which you apply wishes to interview you, you will be invited to a departmental visit.

Those post-application visits are always of great interest to applicants: they offer the opportunity to hear about our programmes in more detail and to talk to present students. Tours of the campus and information about accommodation and other facilities are also provided.
