Image: The Langtang monastery is centuries old, and in imminent danger of collapse. As part of the wider aims of the Himalayan Exploration and Archaeological Research Team (HEART), a fundraising project has been initiated to try and save this remarkable piece of Nepalese history.
Image: The ‘Hidden Valley’ of Langtang is so-called because it is bordered on three sides by high Himalayas, many of which are holy mountains to the local Tamang inhabitants.

Image: The bowing of the walls is causing large portions of treasured Thanka murals to peel away from the walls. The original works are of immense historical value to Nepal, which has little money for the preservation of heritage.
