As an undergraduate, I studied for a B.Sc.
Engineering Degree specialized in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from
University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Thereafter, I worked in the private sector
in Sri Lanka for almost six years and gained a proven track record with hands
on experience in finance, audit, marketing, and general management. I gained
commercial experience in insurance industry through working in the largest
insurance company in Sri Lanka and in telecommunication industry through
working in the second largest fixed-line telecom operator in Sri Lanka.
My academic and professional credentials include a B.Sc. Engineering Degree specialized in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka and a Bachelor of Information Technology Degree from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Furthermore, I have completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) specialized in Banking and Finance from University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka and a Master of Research in International Business from Lancaster University Management School, UK.
Moreover, I am professionally qualified in management accounting, marketing and insurance. I am an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), UK; and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), UK. I am also an ordinary member of the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK and a Fellow Member of the Insurance Institute of India.
After completing my
Master of research Degree in International Business from Lancaster University
Management School, I joined the University of York Management School to read
for a PhD in Management. I received the York Management School Scholarship and
serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Management School.
