Angie joined CRD in 2009 as a Technical Editor and is part of the multidisciplinary team responsible for maintaining and developing DARE and NHS EED. They form a vital part of the database record production process and constitute the final quality check for accuracy of data and proofreading of records before they are loaded onto the databases. The role also includes responsibility for other quality processes required to keep the records current and consistent.

The role involves proof reading and on-line editing of abstracts for quality assurance purposes, liaising with abstract writers and updating records periodically to include additional related references comments, URLs and other data.

Before joining CRD, Angie worked on the scientific database Zoological Record in various posts (Editorial, Product Development and User Services) for BIOSIS and Thomson Reuters. She led projects in protozoan classification and automation of subject/taxonomic indexing. She represented BIOSIS at Online Information exhibitions in London in the 1980s. She co-authored the “Zoology” chapter in the book “Information sources in the Life Sciences”. She has a BSc in Biological Sciences, specializing in parasitology. Angie is a member of the International Society of Protistologists.
