Catriona has been undertaking systematic reviews at CRD since 2002 and has been involved in projects ranging from evaluating the effect of policy interventions, such as presumed consent, to assessing the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness health technologies such as continuous positive airway pressure for obstructive sleep apnoea. She is also involved in various aspects of the production of DARE including the writing and checking of abstracts, training writers and ongoing development of the database.
She has a B.S.Sc and Ph.D.in the field of Psychology as well as an M.Sc in Science Communication, all from Queen’s University, Belfast. Prior to joining CRD she was involved in research related to mental health and community services for a voluntary organisation and also related to nurse education with a regulatory body.
Her particular interests are in systematic reviews in the context of health technology assessment and decision-making as well as evaluating non-pharmacological interventions.Current research projects
