Georgina is responsible for the production of the three CRD databases, coordinating the work of both internal and external contributors.
Her role includes: budget management; management of four Database Administrators and three Technical Editors; managing the work of internal and external contributors to the databases; negotiating service level agreements, workload, and payment; organising and contributing to training sessions for both internal and external contributors; coordinating regular quality assessment of the database to ensure consistency and accuracy; managing the development of the databases in collaboration with relevant groups in CRD and external software suppliers; and working with CRD’s Dissemination Team on planning the marketing and promotion of the databases.
Additionally, she is responsible for the implementation of the new content management system (CMS2), commissioned to support production of the databases.
Previously, Georgina spent 18 years working for BIOSIS UK (former producer of Zoological Record) on IT systems to enhance the gathering and dissemination of zoological/biological data. She has a B.Sc. (Hons) in Microbiology and and M.Sc. in Information Technology.
