Morag works on research projects, writes and checks abstracts for DARE and is involved in running the Introduction to Systematic Reviews course. Morag has experience in systematic reviews within conventional and complementary medicine and public health.

Morag is an active member of the External Reference Group for the NHS Evidence - complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) specialist collection, and has organised several international conferences for the Alternative and Complementary Health Research Network. Morag also acts as a tutor and supervisor for MSc students at the Northern College of Acupuncture and teaches systematic review methods.

Morag’s academic background is within Psychology with a 1st Class MA(Hons) in Psychology from Glasgow in 2001, followed by an MSc in Research Methods in Psychology (Strathclyde, 2003). Morag spent some time working as a Research Assistant with Glasgow Homeopathic Hospital and has maintained a keen interest in the evaluation of complementary and alternative medicine. Morag is a fully qualified remedial massage therapist and maintained a busy practice between 2000 and 2008 in Glasgow and then in York.
Morag is currently writing up a PhD in Health Sciences on the homeopathic treatment of ADHD in children: this project includes both a systematic review with individual patient data meta-analysis and a substantial primary qualitative component. The PhD and associated research fellowship was funded by the NCCRCD (now the NIHR) as part of a capacity building initiative.

Research interests include patient-reported outcomes within trials and reviews, mixed-methods analyses, qualitative synthesis and complementary/alternative medicine.
