About the College
Alcuin College has a distinctive identity and a strong community spirit. Our focus is on supporting innovation and the personal and academic development of our members.
We were one of the University’s first colleges, accepting our first students back in 1967. Today, our accommodation is some of the newest and best on campus. All our spacious study-bedrooms are equipped with en-suite showers as well as internet and phone connections, and we offer modern leisure and laundry facilities.
The College is located at the north end of the York campus, closely integrated with the Departments of Economics, Health Sciences and Chemistry, and with the Hull York Medical School. In all, we provide a home, a support network and a social scene for 542 resident students and many hundreds of staff.
