We are one of the University’s oldest colleges, defined by our community’s spirit of adventure and innovation as well as by our excellent welfare support network.
Our aim at Alcuin is to support our members in everything they do and to help foster the positive atmosphere that will help our students make a success of their time at York.
We have great pleasure in announcing that Hannah, Dominik and Alex have been awarded the Gold Vice Chancellors Award for Sustainability for their Alcuin "Food Share" initiative. This is a fantastic achievement for a fantastic idea that was pioneered in Alcuin College last year. Not only did this scheme collect a significant amount of food that was recycled to the homeless of York but also established the process that could be repeated this year and in future years in Alcuin. A superb example of Alcuin students being enterprising. Well done team.
Tony Ward,
Provost.
