"In my first year I was given a lot of help with my experiments and as I had little practical experience from A levels, this was encouraging. Now the practicals build on the skills I have learnt, and we use more complicated processes and equipment. I have especially enjoyed the lab work. The tutorial group of four proved to be very useful for clarifying anything you found challenging.
As chemistry is an ever-changing subject it was good to have degree options in my second and third years. The opportunity to work in industry offers me an insight into the working world and a better chance of a job in the chemical industry. All the lecturers are approachable and happy to spend time answering my questions, and I regularly meet my supervisor to discuss any problems."
