Roy Fenton Scholarship

Thanks to a generous donation to the University, the Roy Fenton Scholarship provides support to talented students who have the academic potential to study at York, and who have overcome significant barriers to their educational goals.

  • Funding: £2,000 per year, over three years of study (£6,000 in total)

  • Open to: UK (home) students
  • Qualification level: Undergraduate

Roy Fenton was, in 1968, one of the first set of graduates from the new Department of Chemistry at York. The scholarship supports the Department's key commitment to providing the best possible educational experiences for students from a diverse range of backgrounds.

Eligibility

Open to UK (home) students only.

Open to students in the Department of Chemistry.

The award is open to applications from UK-based students starting an undergraduate degree in Chemistry in September of each year (with a residual household income under £42,875).

How to apply

We will contact students (who have been accepted onto our Chemistry course) with an application form.

How we allocate

Each award is paid in instalments for three years, and is to be awarded subject to satisfactory academic progress.

This award has been extremely competitive in previous years.
