Scholarship for Overseas Students

The Department is delighted to offer up to 5 scholarships for overseas students for entry in October 2010 or October 2011

The scholarships pay for en-suite accommodation in a university residence, for a total of 33-weeks (this covers the three 10-week terms and the Christmas vacation), for the first year of a BSc or MChem undergraduate Chemistry degree course.

Overseas students need not make an application for a scholarship. You will automatically be considered for one of these awards providing you meet the following criteria:

  • You are liable to pay the overseas fee rate for 2010 entry.
  • You have applied via UCAS for a Chemistry course at York for 2010 entry.
  • Your have obtained an IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent at the time of application.
  • You can demonstrate your ability to pay all living costs whilst in the UK for the duration of your course.

The scholarships will be awarded to students on the basis of outstanding academic ability. Successful applicants will be notified of their award in July 2010.
