The Department of Chemistry welcomes applications for Taught Masters courses studentships from overseas students. English Language Requirements

English Qualifications (for Overseas applicants)
For overseas applicants, entry on to our Chemistry courses the University is dependent on the student achieving the minimum level of English language proficiency in one the following qualifications. IELTS is the preferred qualification by the Department of Chemistry, if a choice is available:

  • GCSE English Language - minimum of grade B
  • IELTS - 6.5 or above
  • TOEFL - 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) or above
  • Cambridge Proficiency examination - either grade A or B
