We are delighted to announce that one of Music's Alumni, Owen Butcher has been chosen by The Swingles as their new tenor and will be joining them in April!

Owen graduated from the University of York with a BA in Music, followed by an MA Music Performance in Vocal Studies.

Whilst in York, Owen embraced contemporary singing, performing roles in a number of musical theatre productions as well as Musical Director/Arranger for the university’s a cappella ensemble.

Since graduating, he has been developing his career as a freelance musician, most notably marking his Off West End debut as Alan Turing in ‘Alan Turing - A Musical Biography’. Owen also runs a vocal coaching business, teaching singing in music academies and running regular community singing workshops. Beyond the realm of singing, Owen is an avid climber, board game enthusiast, trombonist and cook.

A few words from Owen: “I am truly lost for words at how excited I am to be joining this amazing group! To say this is my dream job would be an understatement - I could not be happier and absolutely cannot wait to get started!” Owen was instantly a fantastic fit for the group with his effortless range, warm energy and breathtaking tone. Please join us in welcoming him to the Swingle family!'
