BSc Archaeology, Year 2

During the first year you are able to experience so many areas of archaeology, making it really enlightening and engaging and a perfect start to your degree. For those wanting to do so, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved beyond your normal classes, through external workshops, departmental research projects and fieldwork. The support network at York is great too. Someone in the department is always available should you need advice or guidance. All the students and staff mix freely with each other resulting in an environment of almost constant infectious enthusiasm!

I love the community spirit in York. It is a bright and vibrant city, but at the same time it's not so big as to swamp you. The community is wonderfully diverse and really accepting of the influx of students it gets each year. There is something for everyone and if you find yourself with free time there are so many fun things to do and places to see that you really are spoiled for choice.

The quality of education at York is top notch. There are opportunities for those wanting to get involved further to do so, and there is always someone available should you need advice or guidance.
