Aims
- to introduce students to the range of specialist skills in interpreting visual representations of landscape
- to provide a practical training in the use of aerial photography and cartographic techniques
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this module you should:
- gain an outline understanding of aerial photographic survey in archaeology at a landscape level
- display an understanding of the principles of aerial survey and modern approaches in the use of cartographic data
- appreciate the value and limitations of using historic and modern visual landscape sources
