Escort Service

A member of Security will accompany any member of the University who needs to travel alone after dark from any location on campus to any of the following: Halifax College, Eden's Court, Fairfax House, Catherine House or Constantine House. Anyone wishing to use this service should call the Security Centre on 4444 when arrangements will be made to provide an escort. Users should be aware that the escort may be either on foot or by patrol vehicle, and because of the nature of the Security staff duties there may be some delay in providing an escort, but every effort will be made to keep this to a minimum. Please note that this service is only availble from Campus to accommodation and not vice-versa.

Taxi Service

Students who find themselves in York late at night, unaccompanied and needing to return to the campus, but without money, may take a taxi to any Porters' Reception which is staffed for 24 hours a day where the fee will be paid. Payment will be subject to proof of identity and the student concerned will be billed in due course. Where appropriate, this provision will also cover journeys from the campus to York.
