Crime Prevention

Safer York Partnership

The crime rate on campus is low compared to the national average, we do however have occasions of opportunist theft of property from rooms left insecure, or of bicycles left unlocked or with poor quality locks.

Students are advised to lock their rooms at all times when leaving them for even short periods; not to leave items of value next to ground floor windows, and to use good quality locks when securing cycles. Ground floor occupants are advised to ensure that their windows are locked shut and their curtains are closed when they are not in the room.
