Student car parking permits expire on 30 September 2013. 

Staff car parking permits will expire on 31 March 2013.

Please note motocycle/moped permits are free of charge however you are required to complete a parking permit application form.

West Periphery Staff Permit

(Parking only allowed at Fairfax House, Eden's Court and Halifax College)

Staff Part-Week Permit

0.6% of annual salary pro-rated for number of days selected each week.

Staff Car Share

(At least two persons must be in the car at the time of parking. Checks will be made to ensure compliance)

Undergraduate Car Parking Permit only allows to park in South Car Park pay and display, Fairfax House and Halifax College. Permit type Under Grad Hes West Stu

Graduate Car Parking Permit only allows to park in pay and display car parks. Permit type Post Grad Hes West Stu

Heslington East - Graduate and Undergraduate Students based on Heslington East can park at Kimberlow Car Park on the Heslington East Campus . Permit type Heslington East Campus Stu

You will receive a voucher to the value of £40 to spend at Get Cycling (the University’s suppliers of Unibikes) or 3 Month’s Free Bus Travel.

Aimed for staff who usually cycle/bus/walk but keep hold of their annual permit for use when it's raining or carrying heavy items to the University. This Permit is issued to staff who do not have an annual parking permit. Please contact Fiona Macey, Travel Plan Co-ordinator for further information.

Parking Permits Help Desk is located at Market Square and the opening times are between the hours of 8.30 to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

Where should I send my completed paper application?

Staff

Paper Permit Application Forms - Please return your completed application form to the Parking Permits Help Desk, Information Centre Market Square, marked for the attention of Parking Permits Help Desk either in person or via internal mail. Applications in person will be processed as soon as possible, postal applications will usually be processed and returned to you within five working days, however incomplete forms will be returned to the applicant for completion. On-Line Applications - You will receive e-mail confirmation of receipt of application. When your permit has been authorised you will receive e-mail confirmation and your permit will be issued via post as soon as possible normally within five working days from confirmation.

Students

Paper Application Forms - Completed application forms should be brought in person to the Information Centre Help Desk, you will need to provide the following documents:

    Certificate of Insurance showing you as a named driver

    Registration Document - V5.

    Full Driving Licence

    Fee, as detailed in the table above.

Permits will be issued immediately, however failure to provide the required documents will delay your application for a permit, if you have your vehicle with you then you must pay and display until a permit has been issued. On-Line Applications - You will receive e-mail confirmation of receipt of application. You will be asked by e-mail to bring the above documents along with your payment to the Information Centre Help Desk when your parking permit application has been authorised.

How can I pay?

We can accept payment by cash, cheque (if supported by a valid guarantee card) or credit/debit card. For Staff applications you pay through your salary with monthly deductions of 0.6% this rate is valid until March 2014.

The Kings Manor Out of Hours permits are available for authorised members of University staff on payment of the fee as detailed above. This will entitle you to park at The Kings Manor between 1800 hours and 0800 hours Monday to Thursday and 1800 hours on Friday until 0800 hours Monday. These permits are available using the On-Line application process or you can get a paper application from the Parking Permits Help Desk, Information Centre, Market Square.

I've changed my car, what do I do?

Please use the On-Line system to note your changes, you will need your permit number and pin number.

Staff
Your old permit must be returned to the Information Centre either in the internal mail or by person, your application form is updated with your new vehicle details and a new permit will be issued.

Students
You will need to visit the Information Centre and return your old permit, you must provide the Registration Document (V5) and your Certificate of Insurance (or temporary cover note) for your new vehicle. Your application form will be updated and a new permit issued.

I already have a permit, but my car is in the garage and I have a hire car, what do I do for a permit?

The Help Desk will issue a temporary permit. These are avalible for both staff and students. There is no charge. You can either e-mail details to Parking-permits@york.ac.uk with your permit number and details of the care hire (registration number, make and colour) or call into the Help Desk, Information Centre, Market Square.
