What is YuFund?

YuFund gives support to staff and students with projects which enhance the student experience at York. From individual awards to innovative projects that help set York apart, gifts of all sizes together make the biggest change.

You could support the campus production which fires a student’s passion for the creative arts, the project which develops a student into a world class graduate or the facilities which give students the space to fulfil their potential. Your gift will make a difference on the ground - where it matters most.

Big Alumni Project

In April 2018, University Radio York were awarded £40,000 of donations to YuFund in order to complete a total refurbishment of their studio facilities. Your donations have helped to transform their studios, ensuring that York students can experiment with audio in two state of the art recording and broadcasting facilities.

YuStart

Donations to YuFund also support student projects on YuStart, York’s very own fundraising platform. Since it launched in 2015, over £300,000 has been raised on YuStart, much of it raised for student projects, and much of it supported by YuFund.

How is YuFund making a difference?

Thanks to the thousands of incredibly generous donors who’ve already shown their support for YuFund, we’ve been able to grant some of the following awards to improve the student experience:

in December 2019 to support Central Hall Musical Society’s production of Chicago.

in June 2019 to support YUSU’s Student Activities Access Grants to make extra-curricular opportunities open to all.

£5,000

in December 2019 to improve facilities at Derwent Squash Courts, used by thousands of students annually for sporting and arts rehearsal purposes

£5,295

in December 2018 to support student media outlets YSTV, Nouse and URY to improve their capacity to cover the annual Roses varsity tournament
