Winter switch-off

By switching off lights and equipment before leaving for the winter break, we lower our energy usage from lighting, heating, computers, devices and maintenance.

With your help, we saved over £66k and over 1,000,000 kWh of energy, which is enough to fully power over 80 houses for a year.

We are using data-led insights to plan and manage building access and opening hours during weekends and periods of low occupancy in vacations, focusing on the winter and Easter breaks.

During these periods, only certain areas of the campus remain open. The rest of the campus operates in a reduced heating mode to save energy.
