Just admin? International Women's Day event

On Wednesday 4 March, we’re inviting staff - especially professional services staff - to join us to mark International Women’s Day with colleagues from across the University.

This event is hosted by Polly Buxton (Admin Coordinator, School of PET) who explained why she felt it was important to organise this: “I realised that, especially since Covid, professional services staff don't have many opportunities to get together, celebrate their work and explore options for career development. With that in mind, I put together this event with the chance to hear from four inspirational colleagues and to recognise how important PS staff are to the University”.

Taking place in the Biology building from 3pm to 5.30pm, this event is open to all University staff, but the focus is very much on PS staff.

A keynote speech from Kiran Trehan (Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Enterprise, Partnerships and Engagement) will be followed by presentations from four panellists:

  • Ana Macintosh (Director of Strategic Programmes, Centre for Assuring Autonomy)
  • Becky Bleaden (Strategic Project Officer)
  • Sarah Kennedy (Assistant Director of IT)
  • Maria Ayaz (Head of Equality and Diversity)

There will be ample time for questions during the panel session, and then for more relaxed networking afterwards.
