National Network for the Education of Care Leavers (NNECL) Quality Mark

The University has been re-awarded the NNECL Quality Mark, marking our strength in and commitment to supporting care experienced and estranged students.

Judges from the NNECL said: "The submission clearly demonstrated significant developments building on an already strong foundation. We are delighted to see that the commitment to learners from a care experienced or estranged background remains a focus at York."

Vanessa Conman (Access and Outreach) and Dan Hall (Student Support) said: "This has been a team effort and we’d like to thank everyone who supported the resubmission process and for the great work they do to support these students."

Our support for care leavers and care experienced students includes specific support, advice and guidance before they arrive, practical help including financial support, free sports memberships and access to music facilities, social events and graduation celebrations.
